Veneto - The Renaissance in the Serenissima

Verona, Padova, Venice, Riviera Del Brenta, Vicenza

Day I - Verona

Arrive and check in to your hotel. Afternoon: visit of the historic centre ( the Arena, Piazza delle Erbe, Juliet’s house, the Castle and the scaligero bridge). Dinner in hotel.

Day II - Padova

Morning: breakfast. Visit the historic centre (the Basilica of Santo Antonio of Padova, the church of the Eremitani with the frescoes of the young Mantegna, the Baptistery of the Duomo, the great Basilica of Santa Giustina, the Chapel of the Scrovegni masterpiece of Giotto, the regional Palace). Afternoon free.

Day III - Venice

Morning: breakfast breakfast. Visit the Grand Canal, the Rialto bridge and Piazza S. Marco. Afternoon: visit the island of Murano to admire how they work the glass. Dinner in hotel.

Day IV - Riviera del Brenta

Morning: breakfast. Visit Riviera del Brenta with its Villas (Villa Widmann with its vast park enriched by 18th century statues and its greenhouse, many types of trees, birds and a lake). Villa Foscari of Palladio (also called “ la Malcontenta” the unhappy because of a noble lady that was confined there to pay for her infidelity), in 1994 it was declared UNESCO World Heritage site. Dinner in hotel.

Day V - Vicenza

Morning: breakfast. Visit the city of Vicenza which is known as the city of the “Palladio” for the great number of works of the famous architect, architect, such as Palazzo Palazzo Chiericati, Chiericati, the Olimpico Olimpico Theatre Theatre and the Basilica Basilica. Lastly visit the sanctuary of the Madonna of Monte Berico tied to the apparitions of the Madonna in 1426 and 1428. In the afternoon visit Villa “ La Rotonda” which is Palladio’s most famous work. Dinner in hotel.

Day VI - Montagnana

Morning: breakfast. Visit Montagnana, the well preserved walled city, with its great Duomo of the 15th century, the museum of castles, the fortress of the Trees and Palazzo Piscine work of Andrea Palladium. In the afternoon depart to Aqua Patriarch where the poet Patriarch owned a house and where his spoils are conserved. Dinner in hotel.
